The band name RADARFIELD originates from the vision of exploring the visible and invisible world (RADAR) and acoustically and/or visually transforming information from the tangible, intangible and fantastic into songs and videos (FIELD).

RADARFIELD was founded in Berlin in late 2010 in the formation of vocals/guitar – bass – keyboards – drums. All four musicians had already been active in various projects before RADARFIELD was founded and had gained stage experience with their respective bands.

After the drummer was replaced by a drum machine in 2011, RADARFIELD's early songs initially belonged to the fields of Post-Punk / Alternative. In 2011, the band released its first 3-track mini-CD in a small edition, already working as a reduced three-piece formation: vocals/guitar, bass, keyboards and drum machine.

At the end of 2011, the bassist left the band and died by suicide a short time later. The search for a replacement ultimately led to the decision to make greater use of electronics. Over time, RADARFIELD's music moved increasingly towards Electronica, Darkwave and Synthwave, combined with influences from Drum & Bass.

2026

In October, DULAXI published a review of RADARFIELD’s single “Cocoon,” exploring its artistic vision and the themes behind the track, alongside an accompanying interview with RADARFIELD.

In October, RADARFIELD received further international airplay on Infectious Unease Radio (USA / AUS), bANKS rADIO (AUS) ...

In October, SWIISPA explores the deeper meaning behind RADARFIELD’s single “Cocoon,” highlighting its dark electronic sound, hypnotic synth melodies, and thought-provoking themes of comfort, protection, and self-imprisonment.

The review praises the track’s blend of atmospheric depth and club-ready energy, inviting listeners to question their comfort zones and dare to explore the unknown.

In October, ROCKERA Magazine published a feature on RADARFIELD’s single “Cocoon,” highlighting the project’s music and artistic vision. 

ElectronicMusic.News has published an in-depth feature on RADARFIELD and the single “Séance”, exploring the track’s connection to Berlin’s darkwave and post-punk heritage.

RADARFIELD entered into a cooperation agreement with PHOENIX Records, an independent European record label.

On August 2, 2026, “COCOON” was released on digital stores. This was followed by radio airplay in Germany, England, Australia, the USA and Canada, among other countries.

In April 2025, the song and video “Death & Beauty” were released and received airplay on Radio Hazzards of Darkness, Radio Dunkelbunt, Radio Dunkle Welle (Chateau Noir), in Modern Grey (Double Feature II) by DJ Niggels, on The Gothic Vampyre Empress / The Darkside with Madame Ravencroft, Flyflew Radio, by George Jopling (Sine FM, Doncaster, UK), in The Dark One Session by DJ BaNN (UK), in Rock Cathedral on Melodic Radio, on Radio Bandito in Doctor Jeep's Whispering Darkness show (Italy), together with artists including The Cure and Eurythmics, and on Infectious Unease Radio #1627 on 96.5 Inner FM (Australia/Melbourne) and 99.9 Wax Radio (USA/Indianapolis), together with artists including Peter Murphy and Eisbrecher. The song was also featured in The Dark One Session by DJ BaNN alongside Peter Murphy and Type O Negative.

In March 2025, RADARFIELD lead singer Tom Radar released a separate side project, “The Man With White Wings”, together with Dylan Phoenix (aka Kabal Apokalyse, project leader of Funeral Records Autoproduction, Italy). As the music ultimately differs from RADARFIELD's style, the project was released solely under the names Tom Radar and Dylan Phoenix, rather than under RADARFIELD. The video for the song was selected as Video Of The Day by Whitelight // Whiteheat.

In January 2025, RADARFIELD was featured for the first time on Radio Dunkelbunt (Cologne, Germany) by Ratze with the song “Hadron Factories”, which was also added to the station's playlist. “Metropolitan Area” was released on social media together with its video.

In January 2025, RADARFIELD was featured in a mix by DJ Diego Moura (Dunkeltanz Party, Requiem Club, Buenos Aires, Argentina). “Black & Chrome,” “Discovered Secrets” and “Hypnotized” appeared in the Sinfonias Nocturnas mixes (#476, #477 and #478) by Jorge Marchan (Eterna Oscuridad Radio, Peru). “Vampire Diary” was featured in the Vampire Special Show mix on Melodic Radio, while “Memory Impairments” appeared in a mix by Michael Strokes on Sine FM Radio (UK).

2024

In December, “Hypnotized” was featured by Kaarin Zoe Lee on Nightride FM (Episode 35, Seattle, USA) and by Doctor Jeep on Radio Bandito (Italy). “Dreambox” appeared on the stream of Steve Wallet (Dark Crossing), while “Hypnotized” was played on Cyberage Radio alongside songs by artists such as Front Line Assembly, Funker Vogt and Toxikk Deception.

“Vampire Diary” was featured on George Jopling's My Synthwave+ Radio Show on Sine FM (Doncaster, UK), alongside artists including Synthbart 81 and Dark Matter Void.

Since December, RADARFIELD's songs have also been included in the playlist of Dark Bites Radio (Germany). On December 17, a blog feature about RADARFIELD by Tommi Bäckmann (Finland) was published on Music Holistic, a blog dedicated in part to dark electronic music.

At the end of November, “Hypnotized” was played on KOWS 92.5 FM Radio (California, USA), Old Town Radio (Cyprus), Mercury Radio (Greece), Mad Wasp Radio (UK), Wicked Spins Radio (UK), Whispering Darkness (Italy) and Dark Bites Radio (Germany). “Memory Impairments” appeared in a mix on Radio Schwarze Welle (Factory Frequencies) and in a mix by Justin Ride on Spotify, Magic Artist Weekly #12.

In mid-November, an extensive RADARFIELD artist feature was published on the Radio Schwarze Welle website.

At the beginning of November, “Hypnotized” was played alongside artists such as Soft Cell, New Order, Ladytron and BlakLight on Stuart Calder's Electro & Wave Show (Manchester, UK). “Element Girl” and “FightN Machine” were played on Cold Radio Fusion (Dearborn, Michigan, USA), while “Hypnotized” was also featured on Waxradio (Indianapolis, USA). During the same month, a video mix by D.A.S. (Dark Alternative Sound, DJ Eurydice, #170) featuring “Hypnotized” and “Vampire Diary”, alongside artists such as Farba Kingdom, appeared on YouTube.

In October 2024, “Vampire Diary” was featured as a headline track by Madame Tamara Ravencroft – The Gothic Vampyre Empress on FM 98.5 CKWR (Ontario, Canada). “Hypnotized” was played on Cyberage Radio (Albuquerque, USA), while “I Am Not A Human Being”, originally recorded in the three-piece formation in 2012, premiered on Radio Hazzards of Darkness with Nachtfalke.

At the beginning of October 2024, DJ Rivithead of Death Rock Radio (Tampa, Florida, USA) published “Sea Drones” on YouTube together with tracks by artists including Nitzer Ebb, Leather Strip and Alienare.

In September, “Memory Impairments” appeared in DJ Niggels' Modern Grey Vol. 74.

On August 23, 2024, “Memory Impairments” was released as a song and video. During August and September 2024, it was played on several web radio stations, including Radio Nachtflug, Hazzards of Darkness and Infectious Unease Radio (USA/Australia).

In August, the new RADARFIELD website was launched.

On July 21, 2024 (USA) and July 23, 2024 (Australia), “Tomorrow's World” and “Hypnotized” were featured on Infectious Unease Radio.

In July 2024, “Tomorrow's World” was released on YouTube and digital stores. During June and July, RADARFIELD received airplay on various radio stations, including Radio Nachtflug, Flyflew Radio, Mixcloud (DJ Niggels), Radio Dark Italia and the Fused Wireless Programme (UK).

In July 2024, RADARFIELD also created a Facebook page dedicated to Berlin bands in the fields of Electronica, New Wave, Synthpop and Gothic.

On May 3, 4 and 5, 2024, “Vampire Diary” was played in the Flyflew Radio mix, as well as on Radio Nachtflug on May 31, 2024, hosted by DJ Netti. During the same month, the videos “Element Girl” and “Silverlight” were released on YouTube.

In January 2024, RADARFIELD was recommended by Whitelight-Whiteheat in its Weekly Post-Punk // Darkwave // Dark Synth Tips – January 2024. During the same month, Angel in the Dark added the video for “Vampire Diary”, including lyrics, to its YouTube channel playlist. “FightN Machine” was played on Bloodlit Radio during the January 23, 2024 session.

In January 2024, the song “Schmerzen”, a collaboration with Toxic Industry (Italy), was released digitally, followed by “Hypnotized” in February 2024.

At the beginning of 2024, “Schmerzen”, created in collaboration with Toxic Industry, was released on digital stores.

2023

In 2023, “Caterpillars” was released on E.B.M. Nation Vol. 7.

2022

In January 2022, “Vampire Diary” was released on E.B.M. Nation Vol. 4, and the second CD, “Black Planet”, featuring new and previously released songs, was released.

2021

In March 2021, the new song “Vampire Diary” was featured in Sonic Seducer magazine on Cold Hands Vol. 226.

On March 4, 2021, “Vampire Diary” was played on DME Radio.

In December 2021, RADARFIELD reached #1 on the NumberOneMusic charts in the Electronica / Germany category.

2020

In April 2020, the track “Pollution” was released on SoundCloud, followed by the video on YouTube in July.

2018

For the 2018 winter season, a Dark Club Version of “Hadron Factories” – “All Waiting Ends – HF Club Mix”, created with the participation of Sebastian Reinicke of b.tonal, was released on Cold Hands Seduction Vol. 207.

2017

In July 2017, the song “Caterpillars” was released in the 200th issue of Sonic Seducer, on Cold Hands Seduction Vol. 189, and on SoundCloud.

2016

At the end of 2016, “Black & Chrome” reached #1 on the Electronica charts on NumberOneMusic.

In the same year, “Silverlight” appeared on the ORKUS! Compilation 120.

2015

In May/June 2015, the Dark Machines Vol. 2 – XL Sampler by KL-Dark Records was released, featuring “Sea Drones – Remastered.”

2014

Since November 14, 2014, the CD “Red Planet” has been available through Amazon, iTunes and more than 200 other stores.

The video for “Cyber H.O.M.E.L.A.N.D.” was voted #1 in May 2014 by Zone1 Radio Austria.

An interview was published in Nachtaktiv Magazine, Issue 18/2014, as well as in Dark Spy Magazine No. 62 (June 2014) on the Szenechecker website.

In 2014, “Discovered Secrets” and “Black & Chrome” were published in Dark Spy Magazine, Vol. 58 (Compilation Vol. 52).

In the second Zone 1 Radio Contest 2014 in Austria, in which a total of ten bands from Austria, Switzerland and Germany participated, the video for “Discovered Secrets” placed #1.

“Discovered Secrets” was also featured on Bloodlit Radio Session #14.

2013

In 2013, “FightN Machine” was released on ORKUS! Compilation 87 and “Discovered Secrets” on ORKUS! Compilation 94.

At the turn of 2013/2014, “FightN Machine” appeared in Sonic Seducer magazine on Cold Hands Seduction Vol. 148 (double issue 12/13–01/14).

The video footage for “Discovered Secrets” was filmed in Berlin, Innsbruck and Vienna.

“Discovered Secrets” was played on Death Rock Radio (USA, Tampa, Florida) alongside well-known artists such as PIL, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cramps, U2, Ultravox and Virgin Prunes.

In 2013, the song reached #1 in the NewcomerRadioDeutschland Song Contest after four weeks, based on the highest number of fan votes.

With the next song, “Dreambox”, together with four other songs and 30 additional acts, RADARFIELD also participated in the “Battle of the Bands (2K13)” contest organized by Sonic Seducer Magazine.

In summer 2012, the song “Sea Drones” followed. Alongside whale-like synthesizer sounds, the track also introduced a female computer voice for the first time.

At the 3rd Darkflower Live Night event in Leipzig in 2012, “Sea Drones” was presented to the audience on the Underground Compilation.

In 2013, “Sea Drones” was remixed and subsequently released on ORKUS! Compilation 87.

The video for “Sea Drones” was named Video of the Month by NewcomerRadioDeutschland in March 2013.
